Mud terrains? as in BFG?

Or are they the Colway ones that have been knocking about for a while?

So the list is 14 vehicles at the moment.

But only 4 have confirmed for 'demanding' trails. ( i see a couple of others who look like they might be persuaded)

This still leaves quite a large group for the scenic route. (im assuming there are going to be 2 routes? sorting out 3 is just going to be hectic?)

Who's leading groups? is it just 'demanding' and 'scenic'? How shall we split the groups up? ( I feel we are going to have to split the groups, 10 vehicles in an offroad convoy doesnt really look good does it....

Thoughts?

Me and Mal will lead the scenic to interesting route.

We are meeting up with Roger at Daves place on Friday and will try and sort out a more challenging route for those that are interested. we will not be able to recce it as our vehicles dont allow. Roger has some maps with routes marked out, but we will need to look at these on Friday.

If needs be Mal and me can split into two groups.

Looking like a good turn out.

The scenic route is really very nice, and is ideal for those new to syncroing, or for other halves to have a bash at driving.

Simon.

Quick question... How demanding is 'demanding'?
I guess it means dual diff locks and MTs?
Roughly how many miles of off road? Thanks, Matt

We'll let Roger answer that one but it usually means there is the possibility of vehicle damage - bumper end caps, scrapes and dings, bent aerials, cracked mirrors/lights - and becoming stuck.
Rest assured, no one is left stranded!

I've had to remove myself. My syncro is up for sale https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=62945 and I think that a day of off roading may make it even more gutting. Hope you all have a good time.

Cheers,

Ben

I will be up for the demanding route.....oh on the subject of lunch ....it would be a good idea to book in somewhere which is what I did for the ND meet....even though the wait was still too long for some. :ok

Hi,
All you super heroes! Just thinking about logistics for the coming weekend, I know that some of you will be new to green laning, so these are the main important things to note.
Maximum 5 vehicles to a group, 4 is the ideal, anymore it gets difficult to keep everyone together and passers by, horses, walkers etc. get easily upset, It is very important not to upset the locals.
Provided we leave a sensible gap between groups we should be o.k. ie. a 30 minute gap if possible.
Anybody joining the "muddy cruddy route" will get very dirty and vehices WILL suffer scratches and maybe some minor dings.
Most people should be o.k. with a minimum of A.T. Tyres NOT ordinary road tyres.
We will get lost! and we will have to reverse in very narrow lanes! I say this because I will be up front
I have driven some of the lanes recently, they were very water logged in places, some places quite steep with smooth very slippery rock, did not see much deep mud but a fair bit of unruly hedgerow ready to inflict some scatches etc.
Mileage could be upto 50 miles for the planned route mostly on OS map I91.
After all that,..........if you still want to come along you will be most welcome.
I understand Simon with the "Shiny, shall we stop for a photo shoot," 8) convoy intends we meet up for lunch to swop stories.
There are plenty of nice pubs in the area but we do need to decide which one, so that we can let them know in advance.
The suggestion is the Pub at Fingle Bridge, limited menu, but nice food as I recall. Perfect for photos.
