water temp sensor

right guys need to check that the gauge in the clock works before i goto through fault finding process. any way of testing if me gauge works before i rip the sensor out etc. . ? thankin you ( 1.9 DG )

pull off the sensor plug at the thermostat and short the wires in the connector

the gauge should read max in a second

if you have the one wire type ..just short it on the engine

ill have to get back under there and check when its light again now lol its well dirty under there but im sure it looked metal, i may well be wrong though . . .
