My van sits slightly lower ( about -20mm ) on the o/s than the n/s, now this is caused by the fact that the o/s has all the kitchen units the gas bottle and the water tank aswell as the leisure battery and main starter battery other than using spring assisters to eradicate the problem do you guys have any other suggestions and would spring assisters be ok on just one side ?

Actually spring assistors usually just pack between the coils and restrict spring movement, you may find that they wouldn't alter suspension height but could possibly make it unballanced (only fitting to one side so restricting shock absorber travel on one side only)
This is kind of a redundant solution anyway as the packing shims to cure 'the westy lean' are available from Brickwerks...much better idea.

Glad I am not on my own! My van seems to sit lower on the nearside and I thought at first it was due to my water tank which fits beteween the chassis and inner sill on the nearside. However it still seems down on an empty tank in spite of the kitchen etc. My plan is to buy a new spring for that side which incidentally I just fitted a new shocker for the MOT. I have to say the road holding is good but bombing round a fast right hander with a full holiday load and being a high top is a bit hairy! Or is it all in my head!?

Got my spring spacers from Simon and the parts of the back ones wouldn't fit for some reason.
Bought a white pvc chopping board from Sainsburys and cut a couple rings out and placed them in position.
Done the job a treat. Dead easy. Amazin what 20mm will do on one back wheel.

I will try the new spring on the basis that since this vehicle spent its formative years doing what it was built for - carrying loads - and in that era the roads used to have proper rain draining camber causing the nearside suspension to take a higher percentage of the load. However if that doesn't do it and being in posession of a lathe and plastic bar offcuts I will seriously consider turning up a rather more sophisticated version of the "Ring" shaped specers mentioned earlier. I see a shape something like a tallish policemans helmet a bit larger than would fit an action man.

My van had a full suspension upgrade 6 months ago and was level for about 3 months before she regained her "lean" so i wouldn't bother doing a new spring first i'd fit the plastic ring
I'm in my own lill world but its ok cos everyone here knows me !

I fitted a pair of Brickwerks spring assisters when i did the lowering job and it definately cured my 'leaning' . They go between the body and the rubber insulator and fitted very well

its just one cast shim innt??????
where in relation to the spring did you try to fit the shim??
Sorry, as you said, it's only one part.
Tried to fit it on top of the spring with the 'cup' facing the spring. (Hope that makes sence)
The spring wouldn't fit over the inner lip.
Used it ok upside down (I say it was upside down, I don't know for sure as there were no fitting instructions) with pvc packer between it and the rubber.
(The ally shim wasn't thick enough to compensate the lean on the van).
