Ebersphacer D2 fiitting position question

Post by camper »

I was reading through the topics about the ebersphacer D2 and have one of these myself now.And think i saw on a topic that it can be fitted behind the passenger side glove box. This would be a good position to defrost the wind screen. Can some one tell me if there was a topic or advice me .

google ebber and download some pdf stuff. loads of info on how to fit and what angles they can be fitted at. just going through a ebber ploblem atm myself and been helped out by a few on here and the yard. most of what you need to know about fitting the unit is on the ebberspecher site.

My Webasto is positioned under the rear seat - the swivel nozzle allows you to direct the air flow to the front for defrosting. I just click the button on my remote and switch it on a couple of hours before I go out to the van.

I never have heating on when I'm asleep - at home or in the van, bedding and two dogs provide all the warmth I need. Just switch the heating on before you get up. (timer if you are too lazy to roll over and press a switch).

The fitting position instructions for the ebersphacer D2 say that its mounted on the flat to the horizontal as not like the image .Apparently there is a cut out on the heater when the it changes angle from the flat positon in marine/boat conditions. Can some one advice if it would be okay to fit under the glove box.

The angle of the mounting position for the d1lc as on the image would not be suitable for a d2.Can any one confirm this?.Installation Procedures
Heater Location
Depending on the type of vehicle, the best location for mounting
the heater will vary. Typically, air heaters are mounted
inside tool or luggage compartments. However, the heater may
be mounted anywhere inside the vehicle provided you adhere
to the following conditions:
• Combustion air intake, exhaust and fuel inlet must be
located outside of the vehicle.
• Heater must be mounted on flat horizontal surface
providing an air tight seal between heater and vehicle.
• Do not mount the heater outside the vehicle, unless care is
taken to protect the heater from the weather. When selecting
the location, consider the following:
• Combustion air and exhaust connections.
• Ducting.
• Fuel line connections.
• Electrical connections . The Heater must be mounted on flat horizontal surface the marine installation is more specific about the angle effect on the heater performance.

The date on the unit is 2004 but the fitting instructions are general for the d2 .The marine installation is more specific and said a 30 degree heel up will effect the unit performance and as i mentioned it is fitted flat to the horizontal for the exhaust & inlet pipes for all applications vehicle or marine.I dont want to fit the unit under the passenger glove box & start drilling holes if the angle when fitted like on the image for the d1lc is not okay for the D2 model
