Window winding Mechanism

Post by dom_crompo »

Has anyone had to replace a window winding mechanism or repaired one I have just managed to break mine probably forced it a little too hard when the window was frozen up with the ice we have been suffering. It winds but doesn't go up or down I have got the part off but Just Kampers don't sell the replacement any ideas??

You say you got the part off - what had broken?

I had a similar problem, where the lugs on the lifter channel had rusted clean off. Luckily (and suspiciously) the previous owner had included a replacement in the sale, though I think they can be bought from JK. Wasn't too hard to fit either.

If it's the actual winding mechanism (the long channel with the crank attached) and you can't find it on JK, then i've seen these about on ebay etc.
