Anyone off to the Wychwood Festival?
I've just booked tickets and was wondering if I may bump into anyone in the campervan field? I bumped into Dirty Gertie at Blissfields last year which was nice. It was actually the first time we met but her van had a 80-90 sticker on so I accosted her.

Re: Anyone off to the Wychwood Festival?
£110 per adult plus £20 camping for a weekend!!!
Plus I've only heard of 3 of the acts.
Think I'll give this one a miss.

I liked camping so much I went full time.

Plus £40 for the campervan.
Festivals aren't about the headliners, often the smaller bands are better.
I'd only heard of 2 acts before going to Blissfields and it was fab. I reckon it beats going to Glasto and seeing bands at the back of a Wembly size crowd.

Re: Anyone off to the Wychwood Festival?
I went for its' first two years. Enjoyed seeing bands on smaller stages and got introduced to some new acts that played at the bigger festivals Womad and Glastonbury the following year, which felt cool to 'be there' first. But, the draw of Womad and Glastonbury was too much after that to return!
cheers Patrick.

For the 99% of 80-90ers who won't have a clue when or where this event takes place here are some details.
Wychwood Music Festival @ Cheltenham Race Course on the 4th - 6th June 2010.

That'll be why I was so confused about the dates. I booked the tickets convinced it was 1/2 term which I've already booked off work so thought it would all slot together nicely. Then a friend said to me first weekend in June (good job she did) and I was wondering how I got it wrong.

Re: Anyone off to the Wychwood Festival?
Thats not a bad shout - I havent been to this festival before - and timing is good ( usually decent enough weather ) - whats the size / layout of camper fields like ?
Re: Anyone off to the Wychwood Festival?
I've not been before so unsure of layout. I did read on the efest forum that the camper van field is nice and close to the main areas so no 30 minute Hill of Death like Glasto. Saw a photo as well and there seemed to be lots of space in the camper field, not packed in like sardines. No tents allowed in the camper field either.
I had to take down the front half of someone's tent last year at Blissfields so I could leave on the Sunday as they'd pitched infront of my van. They were still asleep in the other half and wouldn't wake up.

Its at Cheltenham Race Course. All the camping is within the track ring, while the activities and events are 2 mins walk away on the flat hospitality area outside the track ring. It looks pretty with the hills in the background and one can wander around the race course and have picnics wherever.
