the pump is designed to pull/push a measured amount of fuel into the unit.and the inside diameter of the fuel pipe is very small.allowing the correct amount of fuel to be delivered.

Ok with you now that might be why it smoked a little with a larger amount of fuel going through

I have a starter motor if you want it for a manual. No good to me, mines an auotmatic and the starter is different on autos.

It's ok I bumped into the bundeswere(sp) on Friday they happened to have a couple of new refurbed ones in the workshop 200 fags later two new starters

going back to the eber though it's working but doesn't seem to warm the van even after half hour on number 7 on the thermostat? It is really quiet not complaining though, the fan is working and it gets warmbut the van doesn't want to.

Nice one - do they do automatic starters too, I'm a bit desparate? Pass on the eber though, I only got mine working just before I left, on the bench. It seemed hot though. If it's burning fuel it should pump out hot air- heat exchanger maybe? You can try some of my bits if you want, 'cos it's not connected yet.

I am not sure with autos to be honest I have never heard of one so maybe it uses a petrol starter?

No, it's deffo a unique starter motor on automatics. The motor is longer and it only has the "cog" at the front and no shaft stuck out because it doesn't need supporting in the bellhousing. I didn't know this until I bought the wrong starter!

Nice one Rob. Except I'm in Germany at the mo so no rush. But if you do find it let me know 'cos I'm back over to Manchester whenever I can. Well, trying once a month or so. Mines an Aircooled by the way as I think there's a slight difference looking at the ones on JK.
