-60 mm JK lowering springs
might be buying a 2nd hand pair. Anyone had experience of these? happy or not? Apparently they can end up sitting more like -70mm

I've seen a set of 60 AVO's on a bus..there was very little spring travel left
older AVO's are crap
Brickwerks changed the spec and the newer ones are better.. but they will settle it's true

cant decide if it's a wise move - am pretty keen to get them. Are the JK ones similar to Avos then or were you just making parallels to the older avos?

Had 60mm springs on me bus, looked cool, ride not too bad, but had to have the wheel alinement adjusted it scrubbed the inside of the tyres so cost me 2 new ones, it also cost me 2 wheel bearings after i had already put new ones on. In my oppinion mate dont do it,it puts too much srain on everything, go for 40's.
ps. if you do put 60's on watch your noggin when approaching the side door especially if you are a 6 footer, your head is at roof level.

surely the wheels will be able to cope though if properly balanced after with a -70 drop?
talking of wheel balancing, camber adjustment etc is it the sort of thing done by kwik fit or is it best to sic to a t25 specialist?

me thinks cos you've lowered it a considerable amount it tightens everything up, ie the suspension is quite firm so it all puts pressure on the wheels. there are a lot of pro's and con's, i didnt use genuine vw bearings they were from a local autoparts place, the bus as others are 20 years plus old ( bless em). the camber adjustment had to be done by a speciallist, quick fit COULD'NT touch it did'nt know how. The pro side is that it does look damn good, and sticks to the road like s@~t to a blanket, and providing you keep on top of the adjustment of the bearings every now and then, greasing and so on then you shouldnt have any other probs. big bonus was that i could just get into my local multi storey with about an inch to spare. I also put 15 inch wheels on with a lower profile tyre so as not to throw my speedo out of line. yes, photos would be much appreciated. will PM you my email address. the set of springs i'm after are retyy cheap anyway s i guess i can try them and if it doesnt work out i can always source some higher ones
