Side slider

Post by MrH29 »

Im having trouble with my 84 t3 sliding door, I unlock the door pull down the handle but it's refusing to release or open. I have to put my fingers in the crease to the right of the door to pull the door out, it then opens and slide as it should, I can see anything out of place. I thought maybe someone has had a similar issue and has a solution.

Oil all moving parts associated with the hinge mechanism on the side you are pulling open. Often helps when door won't open from that side.

weak or stiff spring on the sliding part of the hindge. if you remove the sliding pannel " 2 screws for underside and push panel upwards towards the roof " you can get full access to the hindge and slider. if you cant see anything faulty just do a monster clean and lube. it`s probally due for one anyway if it hasn`t been done for a while. dont forget to clean the runner and check the bearings for smoothness.
