DIFFICULT STARTING
I have no problems in starting first time in any weather but once the engine has warmed up after just 4 or 5 miles I have problems getting the engine to start. It takes 9 or 10 tries before the engine kicks and starts properly.
I also seem to be losing oil possibly from around the breather junction. Any help on either of these problems would be most appreciated thanks

Re: DIFFICULT STARTING
It doesnt appear, to be battery related, more like losing residual fuel pressure

from a carburettor?
You'll have to explain that, unless it's an MV injected engine.
Do you mean cranks and fires or turns of the key and and the starter cranks. It takes 9 or 10 tries before the engine kicks and starts properly.
what colour is the smoke when it fires?
which end of the breather pipe is the oil.. engine or carb?

Undo the breather hose, the breather tower (black tower like thing) is held on with 4 M6 nuts, take these off and away from the engine BEFORE you take off the tower (cos there's a hole into the crankcase that things could get dropped into

Not an MV injected, smoke good gray colour but goes clear once auto choke cuts off. It cranks and fires but wont start. When cold its fine but once its hot it wont start, just cranks. Thanks for all your help so far, much appreciated

Re: DIFFICULT STARTING
Mine can be similar to this. If it helps I don't know but I put accellerator to floor, keep it there (thats important!) and crank it until it starts, usually about 5 seconds this way 'till it fires up.

Re: DIFFICULT STARTING
Thanks, When I start it initially I depress accelarator and release it and it starts fine. I had thought about holding accelarator down but previous owner had advised me not too but I will do so at next opportunity (vacation for another 10 days) Thanks for all your advice to date dragoneddy
