Compression Test - 1.6 Diesel

Post by nenenaiad »

Hi All,

I have just done a "dry" compression test which had the following results :-

No 1 - 280 - 300 psi

No 2 - 200 psi

No 3 - 215 - 240 psi

No 4 - 240 psi

Anybody any thoughts ?

Regards

well time for a rebuild. You can shoot a little motor oil into the injector holes to see if the readings come up. But no matter what it's gotta come apart.

Valve clearances?

Hi,

Thanks folks. I am considering a rebuild, or find another one, or change to another engine that will fit into the slot.

Thanks for coming back to me.

Good one, do you have solid lifers. Don't even think of that anymore.
