LPG Tank BBQ outlet

Post by Gandalf »

Hi,

I've bought the adaptor from Brickwerks but the thing won't "lock" in the outlet? Anyone had the same problem? Or do I just have a weird fitting (anyone got pics of theirs?).

Thanks in advance.

you need to make sure the gas pipe doesn't interfer with the locking sleave part of the LPG take off (if the pipe has been cut at a slant etc) or the jubilee clip has been used too close to the adapter end etc.
The sleave pushes backwards then clicks forwards to lock.

I would be suprised if Simon has supplied the wrong connector.

Cheers,

Not suggesting that Simon supplied the wrong thing - I placed the order so down to me. Anywho it looks right and it feels right it just won't "lock" into position.

The sleeve of the LPG out does move backwards and forwards but............

Its probably user error (me!).

the sleeve can sometimes be a bit stiff, push your thing in the hole and then pull the sleeve towards it. should lock in to place, i've got one that's a bit stiff but frees up with a bit of use.

hows that for a whole pile of inuendo!

Thanks and love the innuendo!

Looks like mine has got stuck in the pushed back position - no surprise really as it didn't have the cover when purchased (sorted now though). Not sure what to do to free it thought so will give it a good spray with the WD40 and go from there. One other option is to remove the complete valve and try to get it working.
