timing marks

Post by nrxx »

Just had a quiick look at the pulley on my 1.9 dg and I can't see any timing marks. Am I going blind or is this normal? Any suggestions of solutions i.e. how on earth do I time it without marks?
Thanks
Nick

There are two notches, one a tiny V notch and a dimple. It may be around the other side of the wheel - unlikely there would be no marks but its easy to miss them. If they don't appear with a timing light, your dizzy could be 180 out or you have the light connected on the wrong lead.

Funny that..
My dizzy is 180 out but with the light on No.1 it still times right.

Cheers Kev

As it happens, tuns out that mines the same! Dizzy 180degrees out but timing using pot 1 works. Vac unit's hagged though, so at least I know the next job.
