this usually dosnt happen! so i'm bit stumped.....
Parked the van up (1.9tdi 1z) putting her away for the winter etc, made sure battery wasnt draining etc...we needed to move some furniture so I uncovered her and atempted to start, she turned over, plenty of power in the battery but the engine didnt fire up.......!!!!!
bit stumped on what it could be.....and it does have diesel in it!
If you the original 1z set up in its on the pump but controlled by the ecu i think ( just done a conversion ) you can hear it click when the ignition is turned on.....
It the vehicle starts for a second then cuts out, it's a problem with the key reader/transponder. If it wont start at all, then I hazard a guess that it will be a stuck relay. Get someone to turn your ignition on whilst you listen to your relays. Also, when turning the ignition on the diesel pump should start to make some noises. I am right in the middle of a 1z engine conversion (with Nigel Allen - a genius with diesel conversions and electrics) to my syncro and had a similar problem - the engine started but would only run for a second. Turned out that the key reader was busted!

If it ran ok prior to storage and now its cold i'd say that its either a glowplug or fuel issue, when i was roadsiding for AA Greenflag etc if we went to a nonstarting deisel winter time we'd first check power to glow plugs then we'd crack off an injector feed to ensure fuel was getting to the injectors if was no fuel at the injectors we'd put a small amount of ether up the air intake to get it to fire as the return seals can some times become weak and let the fuel drain back to the tank when standing for a long while thus leaving air in the system that needs bleeding out before fuel can get through.
Just an idea hope it helps
I'm in my own lill world but its ok cos everyone here knows me !
