Front Apron - Replace/Repair???
Ay up,
One job that is looming on the project is to 'make good' the front apron behind the bumper. It's infested with car cancer, I'm not sure what my options are, as I haven't come across a replacement panel??? I could cut it out and fabricate something in, but my preference (assuming it was the right price) would be to by a replacement panel. Anyone else out there had this problem, what do the Nutz do up North?

Re: Front Apron - Replace/Repair???
try classicparts for a genuine one failing that a freind in SA or a rep one from schofields or jk perhaps
it's not the easiest panel to fit but patching isn't much easier and it will likely come again, or just lather it in stonechip

Thanks Ade. I'll try classic and then Schofields. Not especially keen on the quality of steel manufactured parts from JK. I got some hub caps that rusted within a few weeks!

My Kombi is getting a bit scabby there, I picked up a new panel from Tristar connection at Vanfest in September.

Re: Front Apron - Replace/Repair???
My Doka has the same problem but not just as bad.
I'm thinking of getting the guys at Syncro Nuts to do the front nose chop to kill two birds with one stone to get rid of the rust problem and improve the approach angle at the same time.
They done this on my mate Slobbo's last van that used to belong to Russell and I was well impressed with the workmanship and improvement that this mod made to the van.
The only drawback is it doesn't come cheap but it is number one on my wish list for improving the Doka..............

Re: Front Apron - Replace/Repair???
Sorry Guzzi,
Have been looking for more details on this front panel and bumper lift myself.
As i said my mate Slobbo had it on his last van that belonged to Russel from Syncro Nutz and he may be able to post up some pics for you.
I can tell you it was so well done that you would not notice unless it was pointed out to you.
It is a popular mod to Syncros in South Africa and when I spoke to Ian from S/Nutz about it he explained just how much work is involved in the mod and hence the cost for getting it done.
There is a video clip on the Forum of the guys as Nutz doing the front of The Busmans Syncro if that is any help to you.
Have fun...........
