Unless its an agreed value, when you have a smash they will give you £500 wont they? So its worth paying more for that i am sure especially when the average spend on a van is at least 6k. My westy is £280 with agreed valuation of £8500 but that will be revised next year for alot more when the new engine and gear box is finished in a couple of weeks time.

All I can say is I am looking forward to getting a decent quote tomorrow morning, then picking the van up and driving! Having some worries about the teething problems I might encounter but it looks like there's a fair few straight talking folk ready to give assistance, cheers chaps!

managed to get fully comp from HIC for £234, Jenna was fairly helpful and I'm happy with this, think the lack of NCB goes against me, shouldn't have spent all those years biking!

In answer to what makes a "campervan"(motor caravan), I have a letter from Norwich Union stating that "in order for your vehicle to be rated as a motor caravan,it would have to have the following fixtures:
a/ At least one bed with a minimum length of 6 ft.
b/ Wardrobe(s)
c/ Permanent installation to house a water container.
d/ Seating arrangement for diners to sit at a table,
If the vehicle does not have these features,it is then rated as a van" it then goes on about different insurance grouping.This was in 1995, I doubt if anything has changed.
