Hi, I was just wondering what people think of 29 quid a litre for pre mixed colur match paint? I have to say the paint colour match is EXACT... I have purchased off these guys before and it ended up costing about 35 quid for three 400 ml aerosol cans, but I now have a compressor and was going to use a spray gun...
But 29 a litre does not really seem to be saving much does it???
Does it seem like a generally good price that though in your opinions (given it is a prefect match).
Thanks!

Re: 29 quid a litre?
Bear in mind the aerosols are already mixed - ie with thinners. Therefore the paint should go further? And what paint is it?

Re: 29 quid a litre?
It is a German based paint called MIPA, solvent based, colour code VWL 567. It is excellent stuff - I have purchased about 5 or 6 different aerosols from different people, and they are always slightly off... this chap up in Lancashire was really spot on, and at about 12 quid for 400 ml posted it was cheap too. I just though buying it in a tin would be MUCH cheaper you know?
So, covkid, how much paint (imagining it was in an aerosol) could you get out of a litre tin?
Thanks

Hard to say as no idea how thick the paint is but would expect it to bulk up by at least 20% to a third with thinners.

Thanks for that, and I suppose there is less waste... a little bit is always left in an aerosol I find...
I'll go for that then.

Well if its as good as you say it is then the price won't concern you too much. I'd be looking for larger tins to get a decent price though.

Re: 29 quid a litre?
Thats about right! 2 parts paint to 1 part hardener/activator and 10% thinners is about as much as you'll get

Only other thing to do is go to a local automotive paint supplier and get some quotes from them, they can either mix it from data or use chips to match it on the vehicle. Dont know that it would be any cheaper. If this stuff is two pack you are aware that there are seious safety hazards with it arent you?
