Cross referencing bearings

Post by Pepperami »

Does anyone have any idea where/how to cross reference bearing numbers. What i'm trying to identify is a
Koyo 60/22RS bearing. Cheers.

Many bearing manufactures are remarkably sensible in their part numbers.

I know RS means the bearing has rubber seals for example.

E D I T = In view of what Aiden says below, I will change that to "usually means" the bearing has rubber seals for example :wink:

Could it be 60mm od by 22mm id ? (maybe too obvious :wink: )

I use these =
http://www.bocabearings.com/main1.aspx? ... rchbearing" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
for bearings I use in model aeroplane engines, though I don't think they do big stuff, but worth a look.

I think you'll find a 60/20RS is a standard bearing can be ordered from your local bearing place, Koyo is the japanese equivilent of SKF, ie quality, and quite common over here.
Syncro gearbox has 30/20 in it and spigot bearing is similar type, basically a steel shelled, steel caged needle bearing

You sure that's not a 6012-2RS or similar Tony ? http://www.bearing-king.co.uk/product/4928 The 2RS means it has 2 rubber seals (ZZ means 2 metal seals btw)

Hope this helps, Ian.
