lpg and heaters

Has anyone ever or how would you fit a heater that runs off LPG tank in a Westy.
If possible what is the best way to do it or is it best left with gas fitters e.t.c.

If its cold, I just turn on the gas ring for a few minutes - soon warms it up. For overnight heating its much safer to fit an underfloor petrol/diesel heater. You can buy cartridge gas heaters but I don't consider them safe in a camper and certainly not left on while you're asleep. Hard to find a heater small enough for a camper and/or one that could be seen as safe. I guess this is why no one has them. It would have to be vented to the outside for starters and that presents a whole host of problems.

er propex perfectly safe if fitted properly, but german lpg cookers run at different pressure to ours I think so may require a second regulator installing too

Aidans right and that goes for any lpg heater you tee into the Westy gas system, they run at 50mbar and will need a subreducer to drop it to the correct output, the only option for direct lpg appliance fit is to buy what you need in Germany/USA/Europe etc where they are set to 50mbar as standard, we are to be set at 28mbar butane and 37mbar propane, good init?

We have fitted many Propex (37mbar) heaters in to Type 2 and Type 25 Westys and they run nicely, we do a lot for RCC Campers and we repalce the Eberspacher with a Propex as standard.

thats really not a good idea. if the ring is left on it can kill you stone dead with no ventilation, you should never use the cooker for warmth. i know you say you only use it for a few mins but its still not a good idea

So how do we cook on them thena nd live?
It will still warm up with a window open a little to let the CO2 out etc

some people may read this cheap way of warming up and leave the damn thing on hence my post.

if you cook on it with no ventilation it can stil do you in. its carbon monoxide innit!!

As all ready put propex work brill!!!! DO NOT use the gas ring for heating, its there for cooking on nothing else, plus cartridge ones are just as dangerous!!!!
