Ignition switch

Post by mrdp »

Hi - first post and on hubby's behalf as he's in Wales with van. Got 1.6 turbo diesel 1990 T25, the ignition switch (under barrel!?) has burnt out / broken. He's being towed back tomorrow but wondered if anyone knows the cheapest / best place to get one of these from , how much etc? No phone reception there so relaying info. thanks

He's in the bedgellert forest campsite (snowdon) - excuse spelling! Really awkward as no phone reception there! He's being towed to Cheltenham tomorrow at 10am. Thanks for replies though...

Tis a real shame that there isn't anyone close that could do this 40 minute job instead of a very expensive tow....
If only someone could get a switch to him then I'm sure the breakdown mechanic would rather fit the part than recover the van...

Isn't there a VW garage on the left as you drive into Penrhydeudreth on the way to Portmadog? I stopped there once for a E clip for my speedo cable.
