Single or double courtain rails??
Hi,
I have seen that some people install just the top curtain rail and some people also install a bottom rail to avoid the gap between the bottom of the curtain and the wall due to the inclination of the wall.
Can you tell me what do you think is best?
Does the double rail gets stocked?
Does the curtains on single rail flap too much when driving with the open window?
Thank you in advance for your comments!
These are the rails i got for myself:

Re: Single or double courtain rails??
I have fitted stretchy net curtain wire self tapped to the metalwork just below each window. Then you just tuck the bottom of the curtain behind it to prevent gaps. I would imagine that trying to shut the curtains having a rail at the bottom aswell as the top would be a right pain............

Re: Single or double courtain rails??
I have single silent gliss rails in the front and i let the curtains just hang down when closed and use tie backs when not in use to make the ugly man style curtains, by the cab doors. Ive got a panel so i only have curtains in the rear but i have twin rails one at the top and one the bottom of the hatch to eliminate the daylight gap and the curtains flapping down when the rear hatch is open. Both setups work very well especially the rears. Ive also put poppers on the sides of the curtains on the rear hatch to stop the light coming in when their closed...
I would definatley say the silent gliss small hooks and end stops are well worth getting and are very cheap from vw curtains (on google), thats if they fit yours but the rails look very similar...
Hope that helps

I don't have a wall in my van just metal and therefore use magnets in bottom of the curtains

Ok! Thank you all for your comments!
I think I will try with the elastic thingy and see if I can get some snaps for the sides of the rear hatch.
On the rear one i think the double rail should be good as the curtain gets lifted with the hatch. I just want to minimize the drilling, I can't avoid feeling guilty with every new hole.
These rails i got look like silent gliss, but a cheaper version =) They came with hooks and stop ends.
Thanks again!

Re: Single or double courtain rails??
We have the Baimex system with fitted upper & lower rails.
They work great and do not stick.
The big forward curtain, obviously, does not have the lower rail and flaps around if you do not secure it with the tie back.

Re: Single or double courtain rails??
The curtain will lift with the tailgate using the elastic wire method - although a high wind might cause it to come adrift. Don't feel guilty about a tiny wee hole for a self tapping screw, there's only two per curtain. Wait till you have to cut a rusty panel out - now that's guilt.pitufinavikinga wrote:I think I will try with the elastic thingy and see if I can get some snaps for the sides of the rear hatch.

Re: Single or double courtain rails??
I've got the stretcchy curtain wire on the tailgate like most others, though the original curtains used a bottom rail, and that was a bit fiddly to open.
Side curtains have short velcro strips stitched along the bottom, which stick to the carpeted walls.

Re: Single or double courtain rails??
Jail bars on the tailgate are perfect for the rear curtain. Front ones hang loose. Undecided what to do with the side curtains, might try some sort of magnet otherwise it'll be the stretchy curtain wire for me too
