Dip stick removal

The tube it slides down is leaking. I bought a new seal but was just wondering if you get the grips on and twist it to undo it? Oh and its a diesel if it makes a difference.

i think once you've unsecured the top where it clips to engine you should be able to wiggle it to and fro and up and out butr it should be fairly tight, there's a washer above the seal according to the parts diagram

Your dipstick is the one that came with the aaz/1Y or whatever it is. The dipstick has splines on it so won't twist - get the mole grips and tap it upwards. Good luck. Mine was quite tough to get out.
