Sealant

Post by Bert2 »

Thought would let anyone that is interested that if you require to seal around windows in your van or around the fibreglass roof area I use a great sealing compound called Sikaflex 221 its black in colour but you can get it in white as well for use around the gutters, is non corrosive, sticks like **** to a blanket and when dry looks like black / white rubber here is the description from ebay

Brand New Sikaflex 221 in Black - 300ml Tube
Multi purpose
Non-sagging Polyurethane
Can be painted over
Bonds metal, plastic, wood, GRP etc
Use on Boats, Cars, Caravans etc

we use this sealant a lot in the marine environment and it stays watertight for a very long time I can not recommend it enough it costs around £8 for a 300ml tube including postage on EBAY Hope this helps others.
:ok

True, but I suppose Sikaflex is a name that many trust... trouble with adhesives is once you've used a dodgy one once, you don't want to risk it again. Like old or frosted epoxies, cartridges, such a mess to clean up :(
