Sink tap

Post by Debbie McGee »

Here's a picture of my tap for my sink, It hasn't been connected since I bought the van.
Does anyone know how to work out what size fuse to use when wiring it up, there is no information on it.
Also does anyone know how to plumb the tap to the pump there are some bits missing and I was wondering if they would be easy to get hold of?
Also what is the little black wire coming from the pump that looks like an aerial.

10amp fuse should do it....but if you connect it to a battery and water and use an ameter in series you will be able to check it's amp draw (look for the initial surge and make sure you rate several amps higher.

Thanks for the information, Ill test it and It’ll be my first attachment from the new leisure battery.
I wired it up last night in my room just to see if it worked. It seems fine but there is still that confusing wire
sticking out the side, can anyone identify it?

Yeah, it does look exactly like one.
But have another look at the first picture, its a little pump with a pipe to go in to my water tank and the wires attach to my tap so I can control the speed.

Re-tap
The wires from the tap come off a microswitch and simply turn a water pump on/off. The microswitch usually operates after 1/4 - 1/2 turn.
In other words: the tap opens a valve to allow the water through...the microswitch operates the pump to start water flow..
Thought this was an early Aprils Fools thread when I first saw it lol.

Ok cool, I've got the wires from the tap attached to the wires on the pump (Blue sleave) it all works nicely.
But I still don't know what the srtange black wire is coming out the side?

My tap turns the flow rate down as the tap is turned off.
the pump remains on at all times.

I connected the tap up to the pump in series so the tap controls the speed of the pump but I don't know what this extra wire does.
