Hi, I'm painting part of the front of the van and wanted to paint the petrol filler area to tidy it up - but can't work out how to get the plastic part of the filler off the van... it is called a splash guard isn't it? Anyway... I removed the big screw up ring at the basck and removed the inner and outer rubber filler assembly through the splash guard, covered the petrol pipe, and then I was stuck... the splash guard appears to be held in at the back with plastic retainers... but can't work out how to get them off - can anybody help?
Thanks!

If the rubber filler neck is at all perished/cracked.. get a new one.. waterand dirt will get in your fuel tank...
