Fitting piston rings

Hi all
Thanks to everyone who helped me with regards to manual for our van,

Iv got to replace the piston rings have them on way but do i need to replace anything else
when i come to do the job,
The van is off the road in the dry so i have plenty of time to do the work althougth im hopping
to have it back on the road by summer next year.

Don't know what engine you have in your van, but surely your changing all the gaskets/seals along the way. Hopefully your going to deglaze the bores before you fit the rings or your wasting your time...Shouldnt this be in technical??
Mmm what's that strange smell from my exhaust...

yes i should have put it in the right place thanks, its to early.

the engine is a 1600 diesel im not just going to put the rings in with out finding what else i had to do. :)
