Bits needed to make a sun canopy! Any ideas of a supplier?

Post by ringo »

Hi,

After being inspired by DirtyGerties lean to sun canopy at the weekend, i thought i would make a proper job of my sun canopy and get some awning beading (what is it called?) to attach to the canopy and fit a awning rail to the pop top.

Can anyone point me in the direction of where to get some of the beading that threads though the awning rail please?

I want to get it fitted next weekend - so the one on ebay:

Is a bit late...

Thanks

Try Brownhills at Newark, not too far from Nottingham and usually quite helpful. Worth a phone call ...

Do you know what size kader you are looking for? I have 7mm, and 12mm in stock, and about 3 metres of 5mm?

It all depends on what sort of awning rail I get I suppose. What's normal?

I'll try and find out tomorrow.

Thanks

Possibly even nearer to you than Brownhills is Lowdham, big motorhome dealers with everything in stock (pretty much anyway !!)
you'll be able to get awning tape and the channel in one trip, and stop off at Gunthorpe for a pint on the way home :ok

How about some "clamps" that fixes the awning direclty to the gutter? Shoulden't be to hard to find something that would work, and no net to screw a rail to the top (and how would that work with the top open?)

E D I T: something like this fixed the other way around?

I hate that place since they stopped selling camping gaz. Despite this, i went today. Waste of a trip. They have the awning rail - but only in parts which isnt open weekends....

They had a kit with a figure of 8 to attach to the gutter - but i dont want that.

Cheers,
