Fuel tank capacity - 1.6TD

Hi all, can anybody tell me the fuel tank capacity on my 1989 Westy with JX 1.6TD engine?
The fuel guage isn't working.....

Hi Rob
I put £50 in ours and it had some in it already and it wasnt full after that. Having had the beast on my four post lift I can say that it is a large tank.

indeed, and as your counter is probably in km instead of miles ...brim the tank and fill it up again between 600 - 700 km and you'll never run out

Thanks Peasant but after leaving quite a puddle at the forecourt today I'm not planning to brim it again any time soon.
Looks like the breather/overflow pipe has a bad joint - add to job list!

If your 1.6TD is quite a healthy engine then you should be getting around 8mls to a ltr maybe more.
So if you calculate 8mls x 1ltr if you say put 20 ltr in the tank at the pump 8 x 20 ltr will give you = 160 mls
