Heat Exchangers

Post by samk »

I'm a bit embarrassed by this one!

can anyone advise me on how to untie the flaps on my heat exchangers?? i got them tied open by my mechanic back in the depths of the winter while i was having a load of other stuff done, not my feet are really hot and i need to undo his good work!

I've looked under the wheel arches and all i can seem to see is a long cable either side with spring coiled round - couldnt get into see where it ended up. i though i read somewhere that this job could be done without geting under the van...perhaps i was wrong!

Mine done have the cables attatched anymore the levers are just bent into the on position. Sorry for the poor picture, but you can just make out the
chain attatched to the lever on top. Follow the big heater pipes back to the exhanger.

hey toolsntat,

thanks so much for the offer! I'm in london so a little far from leicestershire - would be god to give you a call though. Probably be good to do it at a time when i'm stood next to the van so I can see what you're telling me! Let me know when's good for you - i'll only be around sat morning or in and out all day on sunday. otherwise could try to do it at some point next week.

Thanks!

Sam
