Re: AAZ install questions (Photos)

It was definitely a electrical issue. Now i've disconnected the wire from the alternator to stop the buzzer and fitted a oil pressure gauge.

I quite like the buzzer as its did stop me dead in my tracks on two occasions when i had oil leaks.

God knows whats up with it - is the solution a new dash pod?

Fitted the wires to the water sensor - now the temp needle runs to the right of the LED so i might have to stick a resistor in line to bring it back a bit - no idea what value of resistor though. Will borrow a selection from work and play around a bit....

Thanks for the help on my threads and PM's etc it is much appreciated.

Engine sounds like a dream and im very pleased. I hope thats me done with engine changes for a while....

You might be able to find out what the resitance fig's are for the temp sender in the aaz and then the original one and work it out from there?? Not that it will help but I had to use a 29 ohm one for the scooby to vw one!

What do you get hot at say 4,000 rpm and what does the idle drop to?

Mocki would probably know what to look at to sort your buzzer malfunction

I hope thats me done with engine changes for a while....

Good idea Jim - its interesting that you only had to add 29 ohms - its a lot more sensitive than i though.

I resisted for a while - but i had to in the end due to the buzzer of doom going off constantly for no reason whatsoever....

Would quite like an oil temp pressure too now :D

Hee hee.

Well, when up to temp it goes to 5.1 bar at 4k and drops to 1.2 bar at idle.

Runs like dream. So much quieter than the old one.

I'd still like to get the bod working again though - I'll crash if I look ar the gauge all the time!

Worryclocks indeed.
