Switch on passenger seat frame - What does it do?

Post by nesty »

Hi

OK, a strange question here. I got this switch on the frame of my passenger seat.

Image

I have traced the wires back to the fusebox (pic enclosed below). Its the red wire that adjoins the new piece (which contains 2 fuses) attached to the fusebox on the right side. The thin blue wire goes off behind the dash and then back towards the units are (fridge and cooker etc) and that's where I lose it.

I have a fridge switch labeled on the dashboard, which handles that, so can't be anything to do with the fridge. However I can’t work out what the switch is for on the seat frame? I wasn’t too sure in the T25 scene this is common practice and maybe other owner’s done something similar? To maybe shed some light on it?

Any help welcome?

No idea but,
Possibly A = automatic, M = manual. Then possibly for a split charge relay? (to enable starting from other battery?)

I know some mount switches like this to turn off some power to engine bay, effectively immobilising it or at least making it difficult to start. Could be remants of an old alarm too.

Kinda what I am thinking, as the alarm has been deactvated!

I've written a letter to the owner (2 owners ago) who had the alarm installed. He still lives at the same address,so maybe he can shed light on it?

I found out what the switch does. I managed to speak to a prevouis owner (2 owners ago). He said that the owner before him put it in & the switch controls the charge for the Leisure Battery.

Most probably explains why my Leisure Battery gone flat. I don't know why the bloke didn't put in a split relay? It's what I am going to do now!

Don't mind paying if it's a decent product. What Amp kit do you have fitted from then. There is varied Amp kits?

Just seen it. I take it's the 50-70 Amp Intelligent Split Charge System!
