Thats a great job Chris, well worth all the time and effort you put in. Hows the search going for the 1900 diesel engine going? I 'm going to Busfreeze on Sunday, will you be going (might be a good place to look for an engine)..

Only just read this thread and im glad i did! Thanks for blogging your project so we can all be nosy!
Absolute top job - that work surface really does give it a professional finish.
How tough is the fablon? Do you think it will last years?
I plan to do the same one day when i get another van - but i might have to hire some professionals to do the woodwork!
Cheers
Ringo
PS. Not much in the way of diesel engines on ebay at the moment. Im normally pretty good at sniffing them out - but theres bugger all out there.

Re: My Build so far... Home Brew *NOW FINISHED*
Hey Ringo,
Thanks for keeping an eye out for me
The fablon is pretty thick vinyl, so much so, i used a heat gun to soften it up to stretch it around the corners.
I cant see it standing up to a kife being used on it like a chopping board, but I honestly think it will last a good while.
as for hiring professionals, I really wouldnt worry mate, give it a go yourself. It really is easy, and im not a joiner or anything. I work with PC's all day, and make stickers at night. Soon to be making mugs tooo, but thats a different story!
Happy to give you any pointers / help you want if you decide to do it buddy
Regards
Chris
