seems expensive for the equivalent of washing and wire brushing followed by waxoyling it but probably a lot easier seems to have a bit of custom off the landy guys tho

Seems a lot of money to me. I did a good bit of prep and de-grotting and bought a tin of the brush on Waxoyl and a cheap set of brushes and spent a weekend getting covered in the stuff. It is far cheaper, you know the job is done thoroughly and it's also strangely satisfying when you see it all done. Probably cost me £20 or so...

SyncroSwede how did you get under to do it? You lying on your back or have your got a high jack or something?

A fair question. Have you seen a 16" Syncro up close? There's probably 30cm of ground clearance on my standard bus! Other jobs that require spanner space I use a friends ramps, which makes a huge difference.

Tip: Don't do it on a really hot day as the waxoyl turns to water! A slightly warm day helps though.

Not got a syncro or drive so may have to fork out £100 for garage near me to do it, frustrating!

£100 isn't a bad price if they do a decent job. Check Mr before-n-after's prices...

All you need to do is drive over a cheap plastic decorating plastic.
Jack up the four corners as you go round. Wear the worst clothes you own, (including hat) and knackered old shoes. Use a big tin of waxoil with the sprayer that you can buy with it.
A good tip is to heat the tin in warm water to soften the waxoil.
Its all done in a morning including tea and fag breaks, and you'll know that its been done properly.
Total cost was about 25 squid but the satisfaction is priceless!
Ps I id mine in the street outside my house, no probs.

Remember this Rusting is a chemical process... remove oxygen from the process, which is what waxoyl does.. and it simply stops. rusty or not.

which requires that the area to be waxoyled has to be bone dry as water contains oxygen... and all loose dirt and old waxoyl removed with a pressure washer to stop cracks
