Looking at a van who is having trouble getting from 4th down to 3rd (fine 3rd up to 4th). If worst comes and it needs a new gearbox, how much am I looking at? Bearing in mind I haven't got the equipment to do it myself. Anybody bought a new one and had it fitted by someone else? (Or anyone in Hampshire who could fit it and how much they would charge me)
It has a 1.9 diesel engine from a Seat.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Geabox problem
rebuild yours from probably from about £500 - sounds like synchro failure/slider bearing failure can't be more accurate till it's stripped, but check the linkages thoroughly can be a simple as that; used boxes are a bit cheaper rebuilt ones more outright sale or exchange
