I have just taken apart, cleaned and retumbled an old sliding door handle, i am happy with the results but can't get the spring back in whatever i try!
Is there a technique to putting this back in? I know its not essential but i would just prefer it in! Any help as ever is appreciated.

spring goes onto the barrel first
then it just slides in the lock , dont have a piccy but it dosent go into the handle the way you immediatly think! but is close.

Ah right, well that narrows it down at least, should there be any resistance as the spring/barrel goes down the handle hole?

HI , sorry if it sounds confusing!
no resistance
when you put the spring on the barrel do you put the tabs of the spring eack side of the lug, so that they are forced against each other not away?
from memory the spring lugs one goes down the large hole , the other down a smaller hole.
will try and get some pics today!
