I have always used just gaskets.
twice now and never a leak
The GSF ones are great just like the OE gaskets

Thanks Kev,

I've used cheap Just Kampers ones in the past and I have had a couple of leaks! So I was wondering if this was due to the quality of the gaskets or because I hadn't used any paste. Anyone else got any opinion on this?! Anyway I've ordered Brickwerks gaskets for it so they should be good quality this time.

I've just fitted brickwerks stainless manifolds and a new cast knuckle, rest of system standard and was ok. I planned it caregfully and did following.

1) Spray plus gas type fluid on every nut and stud you are taking off daily for at least a few days before you do the job. Perhaps also wire brish the studs carefully before hand. Have to hand the right toold for the job, i.e. correct socket sizes etc. get some decent, plated, locking exhaust manifold stud nuts to put back on, i used ones with a built in washer/shoulder which spread weight. When using a new knuckle there will be a few areas of rough casting, grind these back to they are fluch on any contact surfaces as it ma effect the way that they all seal. I just used gaskets . Great parts and very good value compared to the cost of buying a new mild steel set. (every few years...)
