Confirmation of an ebber thought.
fan runs slowly on switch on, pulsing electric feed to pump, pump doesnt click and is getting warm. Pump shouldn't get warm right? New pump needed i am thinking.

Re: Confirmation of an ebber thought.
check if there is a filter up stream of the pump that might be blocked stopping the pump pumping?? plus try tapping the pump when on to see if it jumps back into life

Jed there is a filter after the pump, within the unit itself

There is a small cone shaped filter inside the pump - unscrew the large nut, fuel tank side and it is in there.

Your going to save yourself loads of time by actually taking it out (in the long run).
I know you already know this - but make sure all the wires and all the connections are like brand new, To the point of actually changing the connectors (or wires if you think they look really old).
Every time my eber failed (bar a really annoying one) was solved by waggling a fuse or spade connector. I ended up connecting huge wires directly from the battery to the eber with only one brand new fuse and connector inline and soldering every joint.
Theres nothing more annoying than switching the eber on because its cold and then hearing it wind down....
Good luck...

Re: Confirmation of an ebber thought.
Right, took all your advise, Hit the pump with a spanner and it sprung into life
It kind of worked for a while but the fan never really got up to a fast hot speed, pulled the ebber out from underneath the van and took it apart. I couldnt see anything obvious so i can only put it down to it needs a refurb. Like Ricccchhhaarrrddddd says there is nothing worse than an ebber letting you down and the heater is 23 years old after all and has never been touched i guess since it was new. Sooooooo i have a reconditioned propex i was going to fit into my other van before i decided to break it. The new van has an underslung tank with pre heater so i am going to fit that instead and have the peace of mind we will be warm on our winter trips overseas.
Thanks for the advise fellas
