campsite near kentmere/kendal

anyone know of a cheap campsite near kentmere/ kendal? going there sat doing the kentmere horseshoe so need showers, and ideally a good pub nearby. i have done a search, but can only find caravan sites which are too expensive, and, i perfer stopping in a farmers field.

Kentmere and the windermere/kenbdal area is a bad spot for farm campsites and parking. If you are prepared to drive to kentmere from a campsite then I can recommend Chapel stile campsite, chapel stile village near elterwater. 2 good pubs in easy walking distance. Open until october 12th and within easy walking distance of Hawkshead village and it's pubs

the weather forecast was very high winds that weekend, up to 75mph on the tops. ended up on kinder scout, i got blew over a couple of times on there. i was due to go over to the 3 stags head in derbyshire, you can wild camp just over the road. my mate who was with me got a bit sick when we turned up, so ended up taking him home. if you're ever passing the 3 stags head, it comes very highly rated, especaily if you like real ale.
