Ergh, done to death but....
My insurance renewal is due and in light of the theft earlier this year I have to fit an immobiliser. Has anyone else had to do this and what did you use to satisfy the insurers?

My insurers thanked me for the phone call and then said it did not affect my premium.....classic policy

Yeah, I have a classic policy with club discount through footman james and they didn't seem concerned about alarms/immobilizer's, i do use a fat old crook lock though - for my own piece of mind... plus you can always add your own hidden ignition switch too, not exactly an industry recognized immobilizer but it is definitely a immobilizer, nonetheless
Sorry I cant recommend any actual products/fitters.

Get a Cat 2 immobiliser fitted
Crook locks take about a second to get off, they just cut either side if it. (if you put it on in the first place)

I always put my wheel lock on, you can breakthrough anything if you really want to, it's only a deterrent.

Generally they require an approved installer as far as I know. As far as deterrents go in a very real sence, if its not used regularly, remove steering wheel and rotor arm - not many would bother attempting then and even if they did they won't start it easily.

Re: Ergh, done to death but....
Thanks for your help guys!
Just got the proposal through and they require a thatcham category two imobiliser. I'd love to use those lads up in Wakey, but it's hell of a shlap. I'll figure something out down here.
To be fair, I don't want my van stolen again so I go pretty mad making sure it doesn't happen. I shan't go into detail, but it's a good fifteen minute ordeal to get him ready to roll!

In an ideal world we'd have drivers seats that could recognise backsides
