only 10 ??Mocki wrote:bit expensive for 10 bog emptys??
New one-chem is a concentrated formula. Just 20 ml of one-chem is enough for a 10 litre capacity waste tank.
Our 1 litre bottle of one-chem is enough for 40 doses for a 10 litre waste tank and 8 litre flush tank, four times as much as some other leading brands.
*40 doses based on - 10 litre waste tank and 8 litre flush tank
Ian , what the stuff called ? and is it flush and waste ?

Re: New Bog chemical
It's 'Chemical Toilet Fluid' I use it for flush and waste as do many of the portable toilet units you see at RTTH for e.g.

Re: New Bog chemical
Wot U like......we have used the proper Thetford stuff in the past (infact my missus thought she was doing the right thing by buying some at £7.49 for our recent France holiday) megga bucks ££££££'s and to be honest this specialised chemical is practically the same as the 'Thick Blue' value toilet cleaner that you get from Tesco at under 50 pence and if you read the lable on said bottle it says 'sutable for cesspit' etc applications.
We have used both and found the cheap stuff to be JUST as effective at de-odourizing and handling the waste, in fact more effective because at 50p you tend to use a stronger solution than that recommended by these proprietry brands. We found that we could smell 'the weeeeee' when we used the expensive stuff at their recommended mix but had a nice pleasant odour using the cheap stuff at perhaps a stronger ratio.

Precisely what we've done for years. No doubt someone will come along and say it's not environmentally friendly/free-range toilet cleaner like Thetford sell ... the only thing that matters to me is that it don't bugger up the seals in the toilet. And if it did (and it hasn't in our's over the past 3 years with this Porta-Potti) you can afford to buy a nice, shiney new one with the money you've saved

Re: New Bog chemical
I always used to buy the blue stuff for down the loo & the pink stuff for flushing until a friend of mine told me that any cheepie 'toilet duck' type cleaner does the same job (for a fraction of the cost) and I've never bought the pink stuff since......and now my loo always smells like a fresh pine forest!!!!

Re: New Bog chemical
I used the thetford tbag ones a while back and thought they were great although I have had difficulties finding them since.
A couple of weeks back I went into our local boat yard and they were selling Elson ones so I bagged them.
They are awful a real chemicle smell like the old stuff in the seventies, they make your eyes water,I will never buy them again and to be honest I'm thinkling about ditching them they smell so bad.
I do like the smell of the thetford range though.
Rob.
