Re: westfalia or autohomes
I opted for an Autohomes mainly because of the High Top design and its dimensions. The quality of the interior construction is 'workmanlike' which is a polite way of saying 'pretty poor'. Go for a 'westy' if you want a quality build (and you get the double glazed windows too!) or a Brit conversion that allows you to chop and change the bits you don't like as they have probably worn out or fell to bits.......

Re: westfalia or autohomes
Anyone done a conversion from LHD to RHD? Is it on WIKIE? Is it worth the effort? Are there any insurance or ministry problems?
Is it worth the effort with an LT?

Thanks Rob. Not too outrageous a thought then!
Re: westfalia or autohomes
The LHD is no biggie, to be honest - I've never found ours trickier to drive than any other vehicle.

Re: westfalia or autohomes
We have an autosleeper - I wish I had invested 6-7k in a genuine hi top westy a couple of years ago.
I have been keeping an eye out at all the competition for the last two years and:
I love the updstairs bed arrangement in the westy HI top - bigger, more solid and slides down sooooo nicely.
The lining and seats are better quality than the grannies carpet and curtains british manufacturers choices.
Generally orig german - generally much less rusty (generally - but I think proven - not seen 25 years of British salt)
LHD - so no biggy - I don't get to overtake much but cyclists...and I can see round them.
Top spec ATLANTICS can offer PAS and even cruise - double glazed windows etc. - stuff you almost NEVER get on british conversions.
