re-lining a high top

Post by jake1953 »

Has anybody re-lined a high top when fitted to the van? I'm looking for a high top for my panelvan and wondered if it is possible to reline it after it has been fitted.

yes it is Jake and I'm doing this over the winter.
I have a very tired carpeted roof.
I'll be using leatherette and some upholstery foam, for a more modern look

Never done this before Kev. looking at 2nd hand roofs for sale, some need relined as they have been stripped of the lining. Does the lining go straight onto the fibreglass or should there be insulating foam attached. Or, what do you staple onto-a wooden frame or what?

I have re-trimmed my existing roof. Theres a wooden frame with ply panels over with insulation in between the outer and inner trim. Scroll down to the 'during' pictures in this old post https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p ... r#p7373560" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
