2.0ltr Aircooled parts

Hi, As some of you may know i have been having trouble getting my van moted due to emmisions, well, i have given up for the last 6 weeks or so and concentrated on other things, like building a new workshop on my drive
Anyways, yesterday i did a compresion test on the van cylinders 1 and 2 were reading just 35psi and 3 and 4 had vertually no compression at all!!! (does anyone know what the compresion of a 2ltr a/c cu code engine should be as i cant find it in the haynes?)
tonite i have started removing the engine, everything is now disconected, g/box unbolted ready for tommorow nite when i will drop the engine out.

what i would like to know (aside from what the compresion should be) is where can i get parts for my 2.0 CU engine? i am going to need a gaskit kit, for all gaskets, possibly piston rings ect ect but i am strugling to find anywhere that does it for this engine????? preferably an online place so i can order at home in the evening

any help greatly appreciated.

Ooh, thats a bit low! Should be around 130psi.
I would be tempted to regrind the valves as a first port of call.
If you have smoke from exhaust (blue) when running, then I would suspect piston rings.
It shouldn't have run at all with those readings of the compression test, strange!

theres not really any smoke when it runs, yeah i was thinking valves, maybe there is burnt valves in there? also i am not convinced the compresion tester is entirely acurate, it was a cheap one off fleabay, gonna test it on a mates golf one evening, but in any case mine isnt even so its not right. not sure my battery was at full power either so that may have made a differance.

Yeah, battery being down would have made a difference. Accellerator pedal has to be to floor as well (carbs open) to allow maximum air through to cylinders... (Just in case!)

well, i got the engine out and on the bench tonite, took the head off on the 3/4 side (same side that had no compresion) and i cant see anything obviously wrong aside from the engine being covered in crap as i took the head off there is some marks in the head on the flat bit above and below the valves, on both bores, as if the piston has hit something into the head, however there is no maqrks atall on the pistons?

i am at a total loss with it now gonna do the other head tommorow nite

Lay head down with valves facing upwards and spray WD40 into head to make a little pool. If you see WD40 leaking into the intake or exhaust ports then you will need to regrind the valves.
