Hello all,
Went to pick up some friends last night, and as I slid the side door open (1990 T25 Caravelle) to let them in, the door came off the runners! Had to drive home with the door open.
This morning I jacked the door up and got the two horizontal wheels in the top track and the vertical wheel back in the side track. Opened the door and it came off the rails again.. Got the door closed now, but scared to open it again. Anyone else had this problem? Cheers - Paul
Common problem is the slider bearing that runs on a rail (middle)
the V shaped bearing cover splits in two.
Not saying this is the reason but it's worth checking
on the top of the slider is another bearing that causes grief by collapsing.
Thanks for that kevtherev. That is exactly what has happened. As in your lower pic, the outer part of the bearing is loose, the inner part is missing altogether. I guess that the best bet would be to pick up a complete arm/bearing unit from somewhere? It would make life easier if I could remove the rail cover on the side of the vehicle. I have removed the screws at either end, hoping the cover would lift away, but seems to be attached at the top somewhere?

tap the cover upwards with a fibre mallet or something starting at one end. they can be quite tight in their slot but they come off with a little pursuasion

Was driving on the M27 on my way to a 40th Birthday i was DJ'ing at and we had a blow out. annoying but not to much of a problem i thought as i have a spare.
As i couldn't hear the RAC lady i opened the sliding door and it just fell off. Just what i needed. It was pure comedy gold not that i thought so at the time covered in grease and with a gig to get to.
The RAC were superb and there in 5 mins luckily for me managed to get the door back in place and i taped it shut. The roller had come apart and was corroded.
I had only just had it re greased so guess i was to brutal.
Really glad the link to brickwerks was posted as i can't see any other suppliers selling them.
Many thanks for all the helpful info - door to our camper came off this morning!! Really great being able to access this information so quickly and have ordered the spares from Brickwerks.
Hi further to last post, got the bearings from Brickwerks, but does anyone know where to get the 'v' shaped roller shown in kev the revs photos? It looks like ours has split just as his photo shows. Cheers Dave
We usually do have them but the people who make them for us have taken an unusually long time to make them.
We've sold all we had then knocked them off the webshop so we're not selling parts we don't have.
Due in later this week, and will be straight back on the webshop.
Simon.
