Front Hub removal - Bearing damage ?

I'm stripping down the front sus so I can replace bushes and balls (that doesn't sound right!) and give everything a good lick....of paint. I'd like to push the front hub out of the upright sus. arm, however, looking at my 'electronic Bentley' manual it suggests the bearing will be damaged during the disassembly of the hub?
Is this because the inner race of the bearing sticks to the hub during removal?
Or is this not true at all?

The bearing will need to be pressed out and this will damage it. Young Mr Baxter has them in stock

just changed all the ball joints and the bushes on the front of my van, what a differnce that it has made to the way that it feels, solid a sturdy (as it should). be warned though the lower ball joint as a a SOB to get out though, the guy that did it had to use a lot of heat and a very big press, how ever the trailing arms had a nice shot blast a powder coat so they are nice a shiny well as shiny as black can be,
i also had to get some of the steel bushes/inserts for the controll arm and the anti roll bar made up, if you need any let me know as i got a few extra made up. i have got to just change the wheel bearings now but that is a job for anouther day, eneough money spent on all the rubber bits from tps for a while..

The front driveshaft will just push through and out of the upright no problem without damaging the bearing. Taking the bearing out is mosy likley to cause it damage.

There is such a lot of metal on the suspension components that I just painted mine with waxoyl, and will repeat as necessary. much quicker.

just to let you know, we offer a built up powdercoated front hub, new bearings, seals etc, ready to bolt on! we also offer the same service for rear trailing arms and hubs.

Just a note of caution.....ball joint carriers should not be heated to remove the joint, depending on how hot they have got, it can change the metal properties and make it brittle etc......
