Fuel Tank vent connectors

Post by volksy »

hi all,
Anybody know where i could get a couple of the plastic Y connectors that sit in the grommets on top of the fuel tank. One of mine has broken off and the cab fills with fuel vapour when i fill up.Apparantly they are no longer available from vw so has anyone sourced an alternative or even improvised and made something up themselves.

something like this from fleabay
item - 360176021580

and just use fuel line across the tank instead of the black plastic pipe that is a pain to reconnect

Hi,Have already thought about this type of connector but how would you get it to seal and stay upright in the fuel tank grommet

I know I've used aquatic T pieces on T25s in the past. Might be an avenue to look at.

This is probably the most permanent solution if you have access to a lathe and brazing equip. Lots of discussion on other fixes on this site too.

What about something like this
Image

It should be the right diameter, its for garden hose which is what i replaced the cross pipe with on mine a the pipe had shrunk and I couldn't get it to connect.

You may need to trim the bit that goes into the tank? You can also get T connectors
