No reverse - 5 speed diesel
Chickenkoop is on nights so asking on his behalf. Massive struggle to get in reverse on his 5 speed box. We're fairly sure that its actually linkage related by the feel but what wears on these and are there any rebush kits for this set up?

Re: No reverse - 5 speed diesel
You can defiantly get a kit for it, mine goes out every so often but I can't remember what I do to fix it.

Re: No reverse - 5 speed diesel
Had a van with this in my owrkshop the other day and it was down to swivel adjustment of the plate at the front end and the slide selector underneath in the box on the drivers side. Removed the selctor slide and it was burred up and dry, fettled it, greased em up n refitted and is like new. Other end was checked n OK.
Just another angle in case u still get probs after you've completed the other end n it persists.

Hi chaps, request from a girly...
gotta do this job on my four speed.....got all the gears, but its definitely unlubricated down under.
If you get a chance to do some pictures of the bits that you lubricate - getting to the onion sliders and all the above mentioned that would be brilliant, and details of the grease you recommend so that we can get underneath and aim for the nirvana of an "as new" gear box!

Yep we will and we'll take pics where we feel its relevant. Drink tea and smoke fags - how dare you Mr Chicken. You drag me away from my nice warm chair to come and look at your van and slander my good character - huh.

Re: No reverse - 5 speed diesel
Old Chickenkoop discovered that once he'd removed the gearstick extender (fitted by previous owner/s), he could get it in reverse most of the time. Time for a good look at all the joins and connections on the shift rod me thinks.
