Post by Rincewind »

just wanted to report as i believe some out there are using a second car battery as a leisure battery due to space constraints that a elecsol 100ah leisure battery fits nicely under the passenger seat

If you search "Elecsol" and posts from GrumpyOlgG - he put up some pics of it fitted in his van in a thread a few months ago. I have a couple of these batteries and they are well recommended - as are the suppliers I mention in the same thread - cheers

Is it 190 mm high, and fitted with the original battery cover over it and under a standard seat. Grumpys is fitted under a swivel seat with more clearance and without the cover.

Pics appear to show battery at bit taller than will fit under factory metal battery cover as cover fits flush with top of back and sides:

Most sources of info about battery size say 175mm high is as high as will fit. If true, then this 190mm you have will be a little too tall for metal cover which is level with back edge of battery box.

I hope the 190mm will fit as will give us a lot more batteries to choose from. :ok
