AAZ td belt question

Post by lews9146 »

Hello all, Ive looked around but cant seem to find a confirmation so I'll ask the experts.

I'm swapping a AAZ td into a mazda rx7. Due to space problems I cant use the power steering pump and brackets. The p/s pump is the tensioner on these motors. Does anyone know if VW offered the 1.9td without power steering? Surely they must have.

I'm nearing completion of my swap but I need a tensioner for the water pump belt. I'm so close now and getting very impatient so a bolt on would be best

ANY IDEAS?

thanks all

I don't what kind of AAZ you have ,but all the ones i've seen had a serpentine belt system which runs the water pump and alternator. I don't have P/S on my t3 .

Curious that. I've just fitted an AAZ engine and removed the power steering pump -no probs. The water pump etc is tensioned by the alternator.
