are the fuel tanks the same for petrol and diesel and for all years?,will a brand new tank from a 1980 van fit a 1990 van?

Fuel injected (2.1wbx) have bigger fuel take off on the tank... , but IIRC essentially they are the same..

Earlier tanks have larger diameter (steel) filler necks ... later have smaller (plastic) necks. Injection models have a swirl pot built inside the take to prevent pump starvation on corners, I know nowt about d*****s . ALL are prone to rust and breather pipe/gromett failure.

Ah forgot about the filler necks.. but if its new it may well be a "late one" in any case.. the "early" tank isnt/wasnt/hasnt been available for some time.. (is anyone doing the "early" tank now? )
